Cabinet filled with shadows

Masters project
Year: 2009

Highlighting the uncatchable extension of everyday things that communicates with surfaces around us.

A sculptural piece of furniture, which picks up the light from surrounding light sources and gives it a new purpose in the cabinet. From the slats inside the cabinet, shadows are hurled out, making graphical patterns on the surfaces around. Also the slats themselves get different dark shades depending on how the light hits them.

Let it transform the light, flowing through the room, into a shadow play. Near a window, the sunlight will filter through houseplants making beautiful figures in the cabinet. Fill it with books and magazines, collections or just let it be empty and become the jewelry of the room.

Cabinet filled with shadows has been chosen to participate at the D3 Contest at imm Cologne in January 2010.
